Pfaffenthal -> Shinjuku

1 - Pfaffenthal -> Shinjuku - (15'49") - 22MB

recorded in May 2007 by toMix

crashzident is one half of crashzendo going solo. Tomix aka crash took some time off from crashzendo to create this quarter hour of astonishing experimental music.
The song can also be downloaded from crashzendo's Electrobel site (link: see above) and is described by the artist as:
"The basis of this composition is a "world-scratch" by BRAND (www.g-turns.com), who play the world in the same way a record player plays records. They scratch across the earth's topography with the help of two databases, among them Google Earth. I was offered a free song recently during their product presentation @Philharmonie Luxembourg on Mar 31, 2007, and given permission to use it any way I want. I chose a 15-minute journey from Pfaffenthal (Luxembourg City) to Shinjuku (Tokyo), and what you can hear is the needle scratch in a straight line from A to B. I used to live in Tokyo, hence my choice. I then had a look at a World Atlas to see just what exactly I can hear... and I then overdubbed this recording 3 times with musical exploits of my own in order to get to what you can hear now. But the world-scratch from A to B is the basis and what inspired whatever else I have put on top."

This is the final instalment of the trilogy which started in Summer 2006 with "Ganz Gudd", continued a few months later with "Vill Besser" and now concludes with "Sech Selwer", the culmination of working for 6 months on an hour-long live set.
"Sech Selwer" incorporates elements from previous crashzendo songs and adds a layer of improvisation and new elements to make it flow into a realm of experimental psychedelic ambient electronica.
This release comes with an as yet unreleased bonus track.

Crash\Dance is the third release from Crash\Zendo, a remix project done by toMix during pasCal's sick leave. Tracks 1 to 7 are authentic vinyl remixes of popular C\Z songs from the famous "Tested On Animals" album. Track 8 is the first time C\Z work with a world renowned electronic artist, courtesy of Electric Mullah who helped with a truly terrific remix. Two bo(n\g)us tracks finish this interesting 70 minute work, something like a first retrospective of the first chapter of Crash\Zendo's existence

Quotes:

Crash\Zendo will probably be remembered not so much for their own music as for their beliefs that chance plays as much a role in music as premeditated design and the democratic ideal that anyone can participate. (American composer John Cage)

Rock and roll is the most brutal, ugly, degenerate, vicious form of expression - lewd, sly, in plain fact, dirty - a rancid smelling aphrodisiac. (Frank Sinatra)

Are you guys on pills??? (Spookey Ruben)
